Privacy, in plain language.
Effective October 16, 2026
Scorestead doesn’t have a grade-upload service or user accounts. Visiting the website still connects your device to its hosting provider.
What you enter
Classes, categories, assignment names and scores, course levels, credits, what-if plans, school rules, and preferences—including an optional display name—are stored using your browser’s local storage. You don’t need to enter your real name, school name, student ID, or other identifying information. Avoid entering information about other students.
The calculator runs on your device. The application code does not send those saved gradebook values to the site operator, Google, an AI service, or an analytics service. The site does not provide server-side gradebook storage, advertising, or app-installed analytics.
Website hosting
This copy of the website is hosted by Namecheap. The previous Netlify deployment is disabled. The host receives technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, which can include your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time. The host may keep service or security logs according to its own policies. The site operator can access hosting tools and available access or error logs for site operation, troubleshooting, and security; these are separate from your locally saved gradebook. Do not put grades, names, or other personal information in website URLs. Deleting your saved grades does not delete the host’s logs.
Read Namecheap’s privacy policy for its processing and contact options. If you use the separately hosted ChatGPT Sites version, its hosting provider’s applicable privacy terms also apply. Use OpenAI’s privacy policy for that hosting service.
Fonts are provided by your device. The application no longer loads Google Fonts or a third-party font CDN. External sources linked in Settings are visited only when you choose to open those links; their own policies apply.
Storage and cookies
The app uses local storage to remember your gradebook, preferences, and whether you have dismissed the welcome tutorial prompt. The application does not set tracking cookies. Hosting infrastructure may process requests or use service/security mechanisms outside the gradebook’s control. We do not claim that visiting the site involves no data processing.
Local storage is tied to the website address, browser, and device. Private browsing, browser cleanup, storage eviction, or a different address can make saved data unavailable. On a shared device, another person using the same browser profile may be able to see it. Saved data is not encrypted by a Scorestead account password.
Your controls
In Settings → Your saved data, you can download a backup, restore a backup, or delete all of this app’s saved grades and personal settings from the current browser. Restore reads the JSON file locally; it does not upload the backup to a server. Downloaded backups contain readable grades and should be kept private. Deleting browser data does not delete backup files or copies held elsewhere.
You can also remove individual assignments, categories, or classes, or clear this website’s storage using your browser settings. The site operator cannot recover a deleted gradebook.
High school audience
Scorestead is intended for high school students aged 13 and older. It does not offer accounts or a service for uploading children’s records. Do not send us a child’s grades, identity details, or school records. New features involving accounts, advertising, school integrations, or server storage would require this notice and the privacy practices to be reviewed before release.
Retention, requests, and sharing
Your browser keeps saved entries until you delete them, your browser removes them, or storage becomes unavailable. Scorestead does not maintain a server copy of your gradebook. Support emails remain in the support mailbox until removed; request deletion using the contact below. Hosting and email providers may retain logs or backup copies under their own policies or legal obligations, so deletion from this app cannot erase those records.
Scorestead does not sell your gradebook or use it for targeted advertising. Information sent voluntarily to support is used to address the request. Technical information is processed by hosting providers to deliver and protect the site. Information may also need to be disclosed when legally required. Processing by hosting and email providers may occur outside your state or country.
For access, correction, or deletion requests about information you sent to support, contact scoresteadsupport@gmail.com. Describe the request without sending identity documents or gradebook files. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law. Your local gradebook can be viewed, edited, exported, or deleted directly in Settings without emailing us.
Questions and changes
For questions about Scorestead or this privacy notice, email scoresteadsupport@gmail.com. Please do not send passwords, student IDs, gradebook backups, or other sensitive student information. If you email us, your email address and message are processed through Gmail so we can respond. Google’s privacy policy describes the email provider’s processing. For questions about technical hosting data, use the privacy contact methods listed by the relevant hosting provider. For saved grades, the local download and deletion controls are available without contacting anyone.
Changes to these practices will be described on this page with an updated effective date. This notice describes the site’s current behavior; it is not a guarantee that every privacy law in every jurisdiction has been reviewed.
